Helical piers may also be known as screw piles or helical piles. This method uses a spiral-shaped head that is literally screwed into the ground using a high-torque hydraulic motor. The helical pier/pile systems provide a structure the added stability it will need when dealing with unstable soils. Helical piers/piles essentially transfers the load from the structure to the underlying soil or rock bearing strata. This is a clean and cost effective solution compared to other methods commonly used.
